Katie & Ryans celebration began at the breathtaking Markenfield Hall, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside. As I drove up the sheep-lined driveway and turned the final corner, my heart genuinely skipped a beat. The venue has a fricken moat for Christ's sake 😂

They only do a handful of weddings a year as someone actually lives in this gorgeous building (and we had the ceremony in their living room!) it really set the perfect backdrop for a ceremony filled with emotion.

As guests took their seats in the ceremony room, a gentle hum of anticipation filled the air, accompanied by the beautiful sounds of a string quartet setting the perfect tone.

Meanwhile, Ryan stood at the front, a bundle of nervous energy—pacing slightly, deep in thought, clearly feeling the weight and wonder of what was about to unfold.

And then… she arrived.

Katie, looking every bit the fairytale bride, glided into the room—and in that moment, everything shifted. Ryan’s eyes welled up the instant he saw her. You could almost see the tension leave his body as she joined him at the front. It was as if her presence alone calmed every nerve. From that point forward, there was only peace, laughter, and love.

Their ceremony was deeply personal, full of heartfelt words and symbolic moments. We lit a unity candle, shared a reading from Katie’s brother James, and told their beautiful love story—from their first date to discovering they’d once lived just doors apart. A box of handwritten notes from their guests was sealed alongside a bottle of their favourite wine, ready to be opened on their first anniversary—a reminder of the support and joy that surrounded them on this day.

After an elegant afternoon tea with close family and friends, Katie and Ryan kept the party going by heading to Rooster’s Brewery—where the vibe shifted from serene to sensational!

There, I had the honor of retelling their love story for a new crowd of evening guests before swapping the mic for the dancefloor and some delicious street food.

It was a wedding that truly reflected Katie and Ryan as a couple—thoughtful, romantic, and fun-loving. From the quiet, tender moments to the loud, dance-until-you-drop ones, it was a day that celebrated not just a marriage, but a truly amazing love story full of joy, laughter, and the proof that soul mates do exist.

Thank you, Katie and Ryan, for letting me be part of such an unforgettable day—and for giving me an excuse to have a post-ceremony boogie!
