I’m Rebecca — Here’s What I Do & Why I Love Being a Celebrant

Hello and welcome! If you’ve found your way to my little corner of the internet, chances are you’re planning a wedding or a celebration of some kind (eek—exciting!) and you’re looking for someone to help make it personal, meaningful, and totally you. You’re in the right place.

I’m Rebecca, and I’m an independent celebrant who creates ceremonies that are heartfelt, relaxed, and full of the good stuff—laughter, warmth, a few happy tears, and maybe even a shot of tequila after the vows.

So, what is a celebrant?

I get asked this a lot! And the Dad joke always surfaces about being celibate... Two very different things!

A celebrant is someone who works with you to create a bespoke ceremony—one that reflects your story, your values, and your vibe. I’m not here to tick boxes or read a script you’ve heard before. I’m here to help you craft a ceremony that feels real, honest, and joyful.

Whether it’s a wedding, a vow renewal, a baby naming, or something entirely unique, I tailor each ceremony to suit the people at the heart of it.

Why I became a celebrant

I’ve always loved weddings, scouring heat magazine as a teenager for the latest celebrity weddings, dedicating my two years at Art College to crafting model wedding venues, and of course  going to weddings and shedding tears throughout the whole day. I became a celebrant because I genuinely believe that the ceremony should be the heart of any celebration—not the boring bit you sit through before the party, but the moment that sets the tone for everything that follows. I get to stand beside people on some of the most meaningful days of their lives. I get to write for them, laugh with them, and sometimes cry with them too. It’s a huge honor, and I never take it for granted.

What it’s like working with me

People often say I bring a calm, friendly presence to the day. I’m a big fan of organised chaos behind the scenes—but when it’s time to step up and speak, I bring clarity, warmth, and a sense of ease to the moment. I love making people laugh and never take things too seriously—because weddings should be joyful, not stressful. Whether it’s a heartfelt moment or a cheeky joke, I’ll help keep the mood relaxed, real, and full of personality.

A few fun facts about me:

•  I love to travel—I once lived in a van while exploring Australia and backpacked my way around Thailand.

•  I’m a total history nerd and currently deep in a Greek mythology phase. Give me a good myth or ancient scandal, and I’m hooked.

•  I perform improv comedy in my spare time, which means I’m quick on my feet and calm under pressure—very handy if anything unexpected happens during a ceremony!

• I've been engaged to my fiancée Lauren for over 2 years and yet to start wedding planning..

• I love staying active in the great outdoors—whether it's hiking up a mountain, paddleboarding on calm waters, or occasionally leaping over a wall of fire straight into a mud bath (because why not?).
